58th Auction successfully completed

Traditionally, the auction starts with coins and banknotes. As usual, a high number of lots were sold in the coin section and good hammer prices were achieved. We were also able to record a large number of bidders for our banknote auction. The world banknotes in particular were sold in large numbers.

On the second day of the auction, the philatelic single lots followed. Particularly noteworthy here were the Liechtenstein area, with an exceptional number of lots sold, and the Russian Semstvo issues. German States and Reich have some nice increases and surprising hammer prices. Bremen, Hamburg and Lübeck are nearly sold out, for Baden, Bayern and Prussia there are still some bargains possible in the after-sale.

The highlight of the auction was the third day: Asia – single lots and collections – Peoples Republic China, India – especially it rocket mail – and Japan are mostly sold out.

The special catalogues exceeds all expectations. „Germania“ is nearly sold. The popularity of „Privatpost Collection" of Horst Müller“ surprised us: Internet bidders vs. the floor bidders vs. the book caused a two and a half hour delay in our auction process, for which we would like to apologize. „German Occupation in World War II – France“ nevertheless is mostly sold with remarkable results. The coverlot of this catalogue, nearly the last lot of that day, was sold at 21:23 h for 22,300 € (plus buyers premium + taxes).

The two days with the collections also achieved some quite good results and the estates and "Wunderkartons" took place in a crowded hall.

As always, you can find all the results on our website.(see button below)
