In which areas is C.G. Collectors World specialized?
The core business areas of C.G. Collectors World are comprised into philately, numismatics and banknotes. Within these areas, we have qualified experts for even the rarest and most unusual collecting areas. In addition to the broad portfolio of Collectors World, the auction house Christoph Gärtner becomes over the years the world's leading specialist for postal stationery, thematics and postal history.
I am not sure if my objects are suitable for auctions. What shall I do?
We are here to assist you! We will be happy to advise you on the valuation of your individual minimum hammer price – free of charge and without obligation. Just give us a call at +49 (0)7142 - 789 400. You may also send us your inquiry via email, to infoauktionen-gaertner.de. If you have any photos or scans of your objects, please attach them as well.
How does sending by mail work?
If you cannot come to our offices, you may of course submit your material by mail: Up to an estimated value of €25,000 with postal parcel(s), for a higher amount with postal express.
As a special service we offer a free collection by DHL.
Please give us a call and make an appointment to pick up your packed and properly sealed shipment. Please also make sure to enclose a list of the contents!
You are welcome to make suggestions to the estimated price of your objects. If our appraisal differs significantly from what you have in mind, we will of course consult with you.
Hoch much is my package insured for?
Each package you send to us is insured for €25,000. Please contact us before you send your parcel on its way. Of course we will bear the costs of the insurance for you. You can just lean back and relax!
I would like to submit from abroad.
How can I do that?
If you want to send us your material from an EU country or a third country, please inform us in advance. Together we will discuss everything important in terms of mail, shipping, and customs.
Of course we will also insure your material if you prefer private senders – such as UPS, FEDEX, or forwarding agents.
How much does it cost to process my material?
The examination, appraisal, processing, and advertising of your objects are free of charge for you. Only if an item is sold, a commission will be charged. This commission depends on the hammer price that the individual object achieved in the auction.
As for very costly objects or bulk consignments, we are happy to grant you special conditions.

Do I get a commission?
If you are satisfied with our services, we are of course very happy if you recommended us! If your referral leads to a consignment, we will gladly pay you an appropriate commission.
I would like to consign my material.
When I do so, though, am I still the owner?
Rest assured that your treasures will remain yours for the entire time. Only when they are finally sold to the lucky bidder in the auction, do they change hands.
