57th Auction

In the week of 16 - 20 October 2023, the 57th Christoph Gärtner Auction will take place.

We start on Monday, 16 October with banknotes and coins. On Tuesday, 17 October, the day of the philatelic single lots from Asia, Overseas and Europe will offer some fine highlights as four remarkable Penny Black multiples from the legendary “Lord Steinberg” collection, the 1929 semi postals “Philately for Children” from Armenia and the Nairobi sheets from the British Occupation of Italian East Africa.

More highlights to be seen on Wednesday, 18 October, in the German single lots: Complete sheet of 10 Pfg Germania in rare colour deep red, overprinted “Ober Ost”. Several rare and rarest experimental booklets from the Bundesrepublik, e.g. the 1960 Michel no 6 cd, a Heuss I booklet with fluorescent paper. From the Horst Müller collection “Deutsches Reich – Privatpost” several unique rarities will be offered. Rare stamps from the German states like Württemberg and Baden, Bavarian postal history with some aspects of “Social Philately” as well as several rarest or unique items from the German Occupation during both World Wars.

Over 5000 collections guarantee exciting final days. Especially on Friday morning, when hundreds of untouched stamp estates will be offered, we will certainly be able to follow some exciting bidding battles in the auction hall.

We look forward to welcoming you to our 57th auction in Bietigheim-Bissingen!
