This year's summer auction will take place from 12-16 June 2023 at the Auktionshaus Christoph Gärtner in Bietigheim-Bissingen with around 10,000 individual lots and collections.
The banknotes and coins auction will start on Monday, 12 June 2023 at 9:00 am. The lots will be auctioned online live via the bidding platform www.biddr.com. Highlights include the first 20 yuan (renminbi) banknote from 1949 and a modern 20 litu "replacement bill" from 1991. The coins offered range from antiquity to the Euro era. Collectors of medals, orders or varia will also have their chance. Investors will be interested in the set of 10 gold coins at AUD 100 each, gold coins of the old German states such as the Erfurt gold guilder from 1622 or a 5 Reichsmark from 1932 with a Goethe minting.
From Tuesday, 13 May 2023, we continue with a nice philatelic offer. The Asia and Overseas section will focus on China, Japan and Portuguese India. Among other items, a special collection of early issues will be auctioned, as well as rare covers from Mongolia and many other interesting lots. A special feature will be the numerous lots on the "Olympic Games" from 1896. In the Europe area, there is a rich offer from all countries, including top items such as an Austrian newspaper stamp from 1858 in the rare Type II, three Basel Dove, or a unique "Ballon Monté" cover to Estonia.
A strong part are the approximately 2000 single lots from the German areas, from very early foreign covers to modern specialties, including the resolution of special collections "German foreign post offices & colonies", "Sudetenland" or "Soviet Zone". Also worth mentioning is the used block of four "Posthorn". The diverse offer of over 4,000 collections - including about 350 mostly untouched estates - holds something interesting for every collector: An exhibition collection of early postal stationery of Luxembourg, including many almost complete quality collections such as Thailand from 1950 mint, an exciting collection "Boy Scouts" or a collection of district hand stamps of the Soviet Zone.
